Victorian spiritualist artist Georgiana Houghton’s work, inspired by her spirituality and Christian faith, is highly abstract and complex in its composition combining drawing, watercolor, and embroidery. 

A leading figure in the spiritualist community, Houghton detailed the spirits guiding her hands from beyond the grave, as well as angels, on the back of her works.
